Vera Asplund

Vera has been a nurse for more than twenty years, and has worked in the field of I/DD nursing for the last eleven years. As the RN Case Manager with the Continuum of Care Project, she coordinates the Adult Cerebral Palsy Clinic, participates in the Special Needs Clinic, manages the Clovis Adult Neurology Outreach Clinic, participates in HDR and CCG, and is involved in the planning of numerous trainings provided by the Continuum of Care. Vera also supports patients and teams through phone consultations, VNS management, and by facilitating communication with doctors and specialists in the field or I/DD.

Vera participates at the national and state levels of the Developmental Disabilities Nursing Association (DDNA) and is the secretary for the New Mexico chapter. Vera has tested for and maintained her certificate as a Certified Developmental Disability Nurse (CDDN). Vera is concerned for the well being of those with I/DD, and she actively promotes the training and transfer of knowledge to those who work in this field.
